Co-production of Beit Theresienstadt and Hannie Ricardo pays tribute

to the enduring strength of the Jewish People throughout history.

Hannie Ricardo, musician, historian, the initiator and composer behind this commemorative concert, has borne witness twice to the darkest days in the modern history of the Jewish People—first as the daughter of Holocaust survivors and now as the grieving mother of Oriya, her 26-year-old daughter, that was murdered along with other music and peace-loving youngsters at the Nova festival on October 7th.

“KADDISH ORIYA TEREZÍN” comprises two parts. When Hannie started writing it in 2022, initially, it was dedicated to the composers who composed while captive in the Theresienstadt concentration camp and later murdered in Auschwitz. After the tragedy of October 7, Hannie decided to add a part dedicated to Oriya.

In her roles as a woman, mother, and artist, for Hannie this concert is the response to the question of how to recover and stand tall after the personal and national tragedy of October 7th. Hannie plans to internationally tour and present “KADDISH ORIYA TEREZÍN” starting

October 2024, following its Tel Aviv Premiere at the Israeli Opera. The concert will broadcast worldwide, joining in the battle against antisemitism under the title “Culture Against Antisemitism” and increasing awareness of the Holocaust and the October 7th massacre.

Let’s compose a symphony of support to cover the expenses of our concert tour, ensuring that every note resonates with the mission and dedication of those who believe in our goal and the melody of this meaningful commemorative event.
