Located in a building planned by architect Alvin Glazer (1919-1993), a survivor of the ghetto. The walls of the 12-sided building are covered in rectangular red bricks reminiscent of Theresienstadt’s walls. A map of the city that was transformed into a ghetto during the Second World War is depicted on the unique mosaic floor.
The exhibition presents various topics concerning life in the ghetto – Jewish leadership, transports, everyday life, elderly people in the ghetto, and more.
Among the exhibits are marionettes created in the ghetto, children’s diaries, artists’ drawings, posters of cultural performances, and various everyday objects.
