Programs for High Schools

The educational programs offered for high school students are compatible with the study program in history, so that the visit to Beit Theresienstadt constitutes part of their regular history studies.
The programs are modular and can include select contents from the regular study material determined by the history supervisor. Aside from face-to-face teaching, the Educational Center also affords meaningful learning of fundamental issues within the various topics featured in the study program.

Five study days on different topics are offered for high school students:
Leadership in times of crisis – Jewish leadership in Ghetto Theresienstadt.
A terrible whirlwind of crazed fate – the Theresienstadt ghetto and the Final Solution.
“Dancing on the edge of a volcano” – spiritual resistance at the Theresienstadt ghetto.
From Theresienstadt to Auschwitz – the extermination policy and its implementation among Central and Western European Jewry.
Colorful memories from the darkness – primary sources documenting daily life in Ghetto Theresienstadt.
