A group of 1,200 ghetto inmates who left the Theresienstadt ghetto on 5 February 1945 on a special transport to Switzerland, known as the “Train to Freedom”.
The Beit Terezin archive team specializes in searching for relatives based on the card index of the ghetto prisoners preserved in Beit Terezin, in addition in cross-referencing with other sources. In recent years, several exciting stories have been discovered and even the union of relatives who were unknown to each other. Searching for ghetto prisoners is a complex process.
